Samantha is the founder of Echo Memoirs. Before starting the company, she studied journalism at the University of Victoria, which ignited her career in writing and graphic design. The turning point came when Samantha realized she'd failed to record her grandmother's life story before she slipped into dementia following an operation. Samantha began recording the stories of family and friends and, encouraged by positive responses from her interview subjects, she turned her hobby into a full-time business in 1999.
"Whether it's a personal memoir or a corporate history, nothing can prepare people for the emotion of seeing their stories captured in a book of their own."
Samantha and her team of writers, graphic designers and bookbinders have since created more than 250 visually stunning coffee-table books filled with the engaging stories and photographs that celebrate people's lives and business histories.
In 2005, Samantha was named to the "Top 40 under 40," an award given out to British Columbia's top business achievers under the age of 40.
